Glenn Lowry

Director

The Museum of Modern Art

Glenn D. Lowry has been director of The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) since 1995. Under his leadership, MoMA has expanded its campus, quintupled its endowment, and increased annual visitation to 3 million onsite and 35 million online. He has championed innovation, added curatorial departments, and launched research initiatives like CMAP. Lowry led the 2000 merger with PS1 and co-founded a fellowship with the Studio Museum in Harlem. A strong advocate for contemporary art, he writes and lectures widely and serves on several international boards. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
